Ferguson V Wenger

After the match on Saturday between Manchester United and Arsenal which I might add I didn't particulary enjoy as a United fan :) although I believe for the neutral as well as an Arsenal fan, it was a cracking match and on top of this, all the furore in the week about Arsene Wenger it got me wondering...... Who is the better manager?

Although again being a supporter of Man Utd. you would expect that I would admire SAF and all his achievements and to an extent I do, but I also find myself questioning him tactically, substitutions and his general play decisions time and again.

I think Gary Neville has been a wonderful servant to the club as has Ryan Giggs however I believe both of these players should be remembered with adulation and should not be bad mouthed for their abilities (or more the case, lack of abilities) now..... similary Van de Sar.

With all these players there are able first team players who in my opinion are much better suited for their roles Rafael for Neville, Foster for Van de Sar and any number of mid-fielders for Giggs.

So what was Sir Alex thinking of?

The games when we used to come out of ‘the traps’ all fired up, get a couple of goals and then settle down to more rythmic football, when ALL the players ALL the time would hassle the opposition for the ball until they got it back. When our passing was crisp and sharp.

I could go on...........

Turning to Arsene Wenger who I admit I don’t know a awful lot about, however what I have seen and like about his abilities are:

1) His ability to see a player’s potential before he is a multi million pound target for all the other clubs

2) His love of the ‘beautiful game’ and the way his sides play attractive one touch football which transformed the English style of 100 mph blast the ball attitude.

3) His general read of his opponents strenghs and weakness’s

So in conclusion I am not totally convinced with SAF's abilities and I wonder why Wenger gets so much criticism?
